Big Boy Restaurant in Grayling

I had the chicken Alfredo pasta. I was surprised with how it tasted. Th chicken tastes fresh and seasoned well, however there was TOO MUCH sauce that I could enjoy my meal. I spent time scraping the sauce into another plate.

This place is literally filthy. It should really be shut down by the health department. I feel sorry for the employees who have to serve food in that scummy place!

I had awesome service here. The food was good. I'm the love with the big boy burger and it was served perfectly. The place was clean and the employees were friendly. I would go back again.

Waitress were great. Food was horrible. Meat loaf was charred and burnt on edges and the slim Jim was burnt bun

I hate to leave a low review but really feel I am being generous with a 3 star. We have been here several times on our travels and it seems that with each visit the cleanliness, food, and service go downhill.First off, the restaurant was DIRTY. The bathrooms were so horrible I couldn't use them. I believe that they either need a good cleaning service, or that the cleaning should be part of the staff duties during slow times. It wasn't busy when we were there, but I saw several workers texting and chatting. They need a bucket and towel and should start cleaning. Yuck.The food is okay, but not as good as other Big Boy's we have frequented.Our waiter was friendly enough, and the service was timely, but the overall impression of everything else left a bad taste in my mouth.This last visit will be our LAST visit.

Food was typical Big Boy, but bathroom was ICE COLD! Felt like that part of the building wasn't heated or insulated. Many water damaged ceiling tiles in restaurant area, building lacking basic maintenance.

Very poor experience. After a not-so-good breakfast the year before after camping as well, we decided to give it another shot this year. No luck this time either. Once we were seated we felt completely forgotten about. We were never checked on while we eating, our food was cold by the time we even got silverware to eat it with. We only got silverware because I got up twice to ask for it. Luckily, I had gotten the buffet which is always good. My wife ordered Pancakes and bacon, which were burnt, and biscuits and gravy, which were cold and slimy. She didn't even eat. After I finished eating, it seemed like an eternity before I could even get my bill. 2 Stars because the manager was at least able to give me a little discount for the poor experience.

Really, really, really really slow!!!!The waitress was extremely rude and seemed as if she was not happy to take our order. Not to mention the food was terrible!!My advice to you is if you want a good burger, go elsewhere!!Will NOT be returning to Big Boy in Greyling, MI

The breakfast was great. I got old fashion pancakes with crusted cooked to my liking.

I was very disappointed with the big boy in Grayling. We have one in Bay City that is always good so we thought we would stop when we drove through Grayling. The onion rings came out over cooked on my order and my friends were barely cooked. The food took so long my burger was cold. When I was cashing out I told the manager the food was not good and she didn't charge me for the burger or onion rings which was very nice of her. Unfortunately, I still won't be going to back to the restaurant in Grayling.

Me and my wife were in last week on Friday. The Food was great and the only good thing about the experience. The service was slow and what appeared to be the manager was busy sitting at a table nearby the salad bar eating while the restaurant was very dirty and the servers were just talking most of the time we were there. We will not come back to this establishment. the managers should be fired and they should be shut down

Went on Friday for the Seafood Buffet. Was very dissatisfied. The shrimp tasted like it was frozen and so did everything else. The perch was overcooked..the deep fried mushrooms undercooked. In today's day of cooking, you will get better food next door at McDonald's. Even the salad bar was a bit disappointing. I won't go back. Lots of choices in the area with a whole lot better food by cooks who actually try their food before serving it up.

Fast service, hot food, priced fair, friendly, and everything was right on time, waitress Karen m. Was right on time making sure we were doing ok, I hope they stay in business along time we will go back and I hope everyone else from here on out has great service and food as well

Had to wait over 30 minutes with two toddlers for an omelet, a slim jim & mac and cheese. Air conditioner was ridiculously cold. Will not return.

We just stopped in for some drinks a short visit with a relative. The staff was friendly and checked on us regularly. Nice quiet place.

Good things,first, the special was a big boy, fries and pop for 6 bucks and that is a better deal than fast food, that was EXCELLENT and if that was the whole review it'd be a 5, but I am very surprised no one seems to mention cleanliness. I am very surprised it passes the health dept. "Clean test." PLEASE wash the ceiling and bathrooms, then everything will be GOOD.

Three of us went for breakfast at 10:00 am. We had a quiet and comfortable booth from which we were able to discuss a project. We stayed as long as we wanted, 1.5 hours. Our waitress was great, and the food was cooked to my preferences. Overall we had a great time.

It took quite a while for our server to get to the table. However, I think that was because she was the only one on the floor. Everything looked clean, food was good. Our server was very nice and polite. She made us feel very welcome.

The service was horrible, never got asked for refills. The breakfast bar was not kept up well. And it wasn't even busy. My friends food took forever also. This is why I usually don't go unless my mom (Angie) is working. She's the best server, and been there the longest.

The food was terrible, the coating on my fish was soggy and dripping in grease, the French fries was not cooked they were still cold in the middle. Maybe if the cook paid more attention to cooking the food, rather than having a full on conversation with a table of people in the dining room while he is still in the kitchen cooking the food might be better.The waiter took off the meal from my bill, thank you for that. Manager maybe manage your staff better.

Worst food I have ever had. Poor service. We were given 1 menu to share among us. Coleslaw lacked dressing. Sauce on burger was soured (spoiled). Restaurant was dirty and falling apart.

Doesn't get much worse. Almost. Service was too slow. Food was poorly prepared. Hamburger bun was burned on all sides and dried out, (how did they do that?) my spouse ate the burger without the bun because we were anxious to get back on the road. My fish sandwich was below average. Fries were cold.

Food is good, and I had very good service. Good price point. However the salad bar looked a little old.

Bland food. Slow service. Not at all a pleasant dining experience. I don't expect much from Big Boy to begin with, but was still let down.

I am not a buffet person at all, but I would eat their Sunday breakfast buffet every day if I could. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious as well as filling. I normally end up getting a second and third plate, any other buffet I'm done after my first plate.

Went for breakfast. Told there was a 1/2 hour wait to order from menu, but buffet was available now. Ordered buffet and it was nearly empty. I mean out of food. When it was put out, patrons were like vultures and quickly took what was put out. Restaurant was only 1/2 full. Severely under staffed and ill prepared in kitchen. Very bad visit. Go somewhere else. I usually like Big Boys, this one is no where up to par.

The floors and dining area had piles of refuge around. Staff did not follow through with special requests. Same Big Boy food.

Great food or including an all you can eat Burger bar.

Food is fair at best. Floors are dirty and need repair. Mens bathroom needs to be cleaned. Waitress worked her tail off. Serving, refilling coffee,seating people.

Absolute best breakfast I have had in years. Best waitress and the suggestion of the Oreo pancakes was outstanding. Bacon was cooked perfect. I am one very full but happy customer.

We came in for breakfast and were seated right away. Hostess was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean. Waitress was very attentive and stopped to make sure we were taken care of several times. The food was good and presented well. The prices are good also. I definitely will go back here again.

Everyone was friendly. Our waitress Angela P. was very friendly and sweet to my two year old son. The food was very good and hot. My son loved his food and ate it all. He had the eggs and friends and I had the strawberry Belgium waffles. Very delicious! We will definitely be returning soon! Thanks so much for the great service and wonderful atmosphere!

Big Boy's service was really good but the food can be sometimes good and bad. The hashbrowns were really not that good and the bacon was undercooked a bit. The waffles were pretty good though. It does take a while for the food to come out. The lunch menu would probably be a better option to choose from.

The usual Big Boy. We only stoped for breakfast, the food and service weregood and just as expected for a Big Boy restaurant.

Sadly, the restaurant in Kalkaska MI is greatly in need of updating. It must be very difficult to make it look presentable what with the chipped tile, tired decor and dirty looking bathroom floors. The food is good and the wait staff pleasant and friendly. ( Sometimes I think the salad bar could be a little more creative, however.) The Big Boy at West Branch is far nicer.

Rude service. We swore that we would never go there again but gave them one more chance. Things have changed so much since my youth. Neither of us enjoyed our food or the service we received. Never again!

I worked at Big Boy as a kid in the 1980's and only the staff as changed. The restaurant was dated then and even more so now. My Slim Jim was good and as I remember it and my server was on point.

The parking lot was empty at 5 on a Friday, but the food was good!

Service is a little slow and food is not as good as it used to be 15 years ago

Terrible. Shortstaffed, it took us 20 minutes to be seated when plenty of seats were open, and we waited 10 minutes just to pay for our meal. It was the worst breakfast I have ever ate. My mother and I both got sick later that day. Do not recommend.

Plenty of open tables but all needed bussing. Wait staff ignored dirty tables but definitely checked them for tips. Cook ended up coming out to bus tables. Staff definitely needs some serious training or retraining.

The server is good. Our waitress Angie is a great person. She takes great care of here customers.
